Construction of the cathedral began around 1110. Over the centuries, the building evolved, combining a narrow Romanesque nave with highly decorated chapels from the 17th and 18th centuries. Modest attire is expected. You must remove hats before entering this active place of worship.

Daily Mass is usually held here at 11:00 AM. Maintain a quiet demeanor, especially during services. Photography is permitted, but flash and tripods are not allowed.

The imposing central nave features high ceilings supported by thick stone pillars. This narrow space highlights the church's original 12th-century Romanesque design. Look for the baptismal font and the medieval statue of Our Lady of Vandoma.
